5 Unique Lighting Ideas to Brighten Your Home
Lamps are always practical because they can be moved around the house easily when necessary. They can provide more direct light to parts of a room where it’s really needed. They also create mood when overhead lights are turned off. To create a more unique atmosphere, you can also opt for creatively designed lighting fixtures. Here, we are featuring five exciting and structurally unique lighting ideas we found at Behance.
UNIQUE LIGHTING IDEA 01 – AEQUO
Based on what you call freestyle designing, the “Aequo” by French designer Vivien Muller is a unique lighting modular lamp that lets the users play with their ideas in creating different forms and light shades according to the mood or occasion. Balancing different parts together, the unique lighting may look ideal to crumble, but the truth is that it firmly holds its position, as all the parts support each other on their gravity center, so you could give desired shape to the lamp.

Each part maintains the others on their gravity center so you can give the lamp any shape you desire it will always stay in balance.

UNIQUE LIGHTING IDEA 02 – The Rubik’s Lamp
The Rubik’s lamp is an innovative project based on the popular toy from the eighties. Much like the original Rubik’s cube, the lamp is composed of 26 smaller cube-like pieces, whose interlocking shapes fit onto each other.

The rotation of each face of the main cube allows the arrangement of up to forty-three quintillion different combinations, each one providing different lighting. Colored patterns and chaotic, kaleidoscopic lighting can be created by not leaving the main rows parallel to each other.

Rubik’s Lamp is a creative solution for customized lighting, and, just like the original toy, presents itself as a fun, challenging puzzle.
LAMP 03 – Gluttony
Cutleries are designed for our dining purposes. However, designer Luis Luna has a different view of these type of things and created a wonderful and innovative suspension lamp made of plastics wares like plastic spoon, forks and bread knife.

This design of Luis Luna is one of the finalists in the house party competition by designboom, which is exhibited at 100% Design Tokio. I find the product totally creative and is perfect for any contemporary places like bars and restaurants and even in any modern and artistic homes.

With this wonderful design made of plastic wares is obvious an eco-friendly one that made it perfect for environment friendly people all around the world.
LAMP 04 – Anemona
Anemona is a fun and interactive lamp by designer Igor Pinigin that can change its position. The trick is in the clever construction and the presence of heavy balls in the bottom of the lamp.

The Anemona lamp is designed in such a way that it could be dynamically and freely tilted and rotated without losing its balance. Multiples of the lamp can also be used to create a sculpture-like piece.
LAMP 05 – Reeding Lamp
This unique lamp from designer Myan Duong is made of small reeds (that explains the name) and a walnut ply base. An acrylic encased light gives a soft glow from the center of the lamp. The light was designed as an 18″X18″ module.
