10 Very Unique and Creative Staircase Designs
A unique and creative staircase design can add interest to your rather boring interiors. If your home is space challenged, there are also staircase designs that would allow you to save more space. But before jumping to having an aesthetically unique staircase design, you must not forget safety and stability in your staircase design. Here, we are going to feature some impressive spiral staircase designs such as a staircase made of glass that seems to float on air, and a staircase design that also serve as book storage and seating.

This creative staircase design concept from Designer Geoffrey Packard is inspired by the double-helix shape of the molecules. His DNA staircase designs are made from different materials such as glass, steel, carbon fiber and wood. According to Packer, the “Helical balusters are rolled the opposite hand to give the central spine and handrail to give the DNA form.”
Staircase Design 02 – Beautifully Dangerous (Dangerously Beautiful?) Staircase Design

This floating staircase was designed by Jordi Vayreda of Spanish design studio Jordivayreda Projectteam for a client’s home. It looks awesome but a little bit too dangerous.
Staircase Design 03 – TAF Stairs
The images above are stairs in a private residence in Stockhol which Gabriella and Mattias designed.
Staircase Design 04 – The Amazing Staircase
London-based Levitate Architects came up with this staircase design which is an ingenious solution to a book storage problem and created a loft-like bedroom nestled under the roof of the top-floor apartment.
Staircase Design 05 – Curvy Modern Marble Stairs
The stairs’ design was based on the idea of a ribbon and connects two floors of a 12th Street penthouse designed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates LLP in collaboration with Jay Smith. The steel support system is topped with white Sivec marble.
Staircase Design 06 – Glass Staircase
Superb glass cantilever staircase with full height independent glass panel balustrade and wall mounted handrail. This staircase was featured on the Channel 4 Grand Designs programme.
Staircase Design 07 – Clever Staircase Bookshelves
Three Czech designers, Adam Jirkal, Jerry Koza and Tomáš Kalhous, have created an intelligent alternating tread staircase that doubles as bookshelves.
Staircase Design 08 – Mistral staircase
These gorgeous wood and glass staircases by Siller are about as close as “interactive art” as you can get! Indeed you’ll feel like you’re scaling a sculpture as you make your way up the Mistral staircase design – a stylishly simple, barely there floating staircase. The minimalist design enhances every modern space with the clean, clear look of glass, which allows light and space to flow uninterrupted.
Staircase Design 09 – Mini Staircase Design
Make the most of small spaces with the ingenious Mini staircase. It looks smart and retains style whilst focusing on advanced technology to solve space issues. In fact, the steps are each specially shaped to ensure comfort and stability for the user, but at the same time not taking up precious space. ‘Create space where there is none: this is the philosophy of scale mini’.
